Hi there! I’m Fabrizio Van Marciano and a warm welcome to Magnet4Blogging Media.
So let me tell you a little bit about myself before anything else.
I’m a 39 year old professional blogger, freelance web designer, WordPress developer and digital marketer from North Devon, England, UK.
I’m also the founder of Magnet4Blogging.
I’ve been doing business online for quite some time now.
Interestingly enough, October (2016) marked the 10th year anniversary of when I started my first business venture on the internet.
It all started back in 2004, when I started a business as a struggling artist (painter). I built a semi-decent website and began selling my artwork online.
Oh, and the internet was a completely different landscape back then I can tell you.
Within a few years of starting, I’d built a sustainable little business for myself, simply from creating and selling paintings around the world, all using the internet.
In 2006 I was able to quit my “mundane” job as a sales executive, to focus on my online art business full-time.
I didn’t know this at the time, but that time would be the last time I’d ever work a 9 to 5 again… So far so good I guess.
Business was booming, and with the help of my website and various other ecommerce platforms I was using such as eBay and Etsy, I was able to sell enough of my paintings and promote my business worldwide to make a reasonably comfortable living.
I was also living with my parents at the time, so I didn’t really have that many commitments as such.
Then came the recession in 2008 and things started going downhill fast. Not just for my business either, but things in my personal life was also taking a bit of a nose dive.
In the same year I also met my girlfriend and soulmate Samantha. Samantha and I got married in the summer of 2016.
When 2009 finally came around, I decided that I was going to start a new online business venture. It was either that or go back to work a 9 to 5.
I started dabbling with websites a little bit more. I discovered WordPress and in 2010 I started my first blogging venture called Magnet4Marketing.
Within a few years of launching Magnet4Marketing, I had managed to build a thriving little community of readers online.
It was a steep learning curve to say the least. Blogging was completely mind boggling to me back then, and things were very different from what they are now.
My interest in WordPress development, front-end design and branding also grew stronger. I was learning how to code and how to use an array of website development tools.
Things was going pretty swell and I was making some decent income with my blog, mainly through the selling of advertising space on my site, and monetising with Google AdSense.
Unfortunately when Google Panda and Google Penguin was introduced in 2012, all of that changed and things started to go downhill fast for the site…
It was indeed.
In January 2014 I decided to take Magnet4Marketing offline, and just put it down to experience of learning and making mistakes in online business.
You can learn more about how Google killed my first blogging business here in this detailed post.
So I failed twice at running my own internet business, however, I wasn’t going to accept defeat just yet.
I don’t consider myself to be an expert at anything, in fact I hate using the word “expert”.
I do consider myself however to be is very experienced and knowledgable in my industry.
I am also very passionate about what I do as a blogger, web designer and solopreneur.
I started Magnet4Blogging in December of 2013, and this time with a completely different mindset. A more “business focused” mindset.
I began building the new site very quickly, focusing on creating lots of problem solving content. Content focused around blogging, WordPress website design and development, and of course digital marketing.
I quickly made a lot of progress, and since I wasn’t starting as a complete newbie or novice, I was aware of a lot of the mistakes and pitfalls I had to avoid, in starting an new online business venture.
As a blogger and online marketer of more than 6 years now, I consider myself to be experienced and knowledgable in:
